What to Expect
We'll s-l-o-w-l-y saunter through the wood, where you'll be invited to explore your senses. Allow yourself the gift of being in the present moment, with nothing to do but let Nature determine your path.
Where
To be determined.
About the Trail
Route to be determined.
What to Bring
Please arrive dressed for the weather and with plenty of water. Layers are always recommended. We may come across mud and damp areas, therefore sneakers, hiking shoes, or closed-toed shoes are also recommended. If balance is a concern, please bring trekking sticks. For our sit spot meditation and council circle, I recommend bringing a small towel to sit on.
Other suggested gear:
sunglasses
backpack or fanny pack
change of socks
insect repellent
sunscreen
I will have a first aid kit on hand, and I am CPR certified.
What to Leave Behind
This is an unplugged, technology free time. I will be keeping track of the time, so you won't have to. Please either leave cell phones & smart watches behind, or turn them on "silent" or airplane mode. Likewise, the goal of this encounter is to link us to the natural world through our senses--not through a camera lens, so photography is discouraged. We will also be practicing social silence for most of the walk. Thank you.
Weather
The event will happen, rain, snow, or shine, unless the forecast calls for heavy wind, heavy rain, heavy snow, or thunderstorm & lightning.
Cost
There is no cost for this event.
Final Notes
Registration is required for all events. If there are no registered participants, or the participants have canceled, the walk will be rescheduled to another time. Please use the provided link to sign up, along with the total amount of people that will be with you. You are welcome to bring a friend along provided that there is enough space.
The format for this walk is best suited for adults and those aged 13 and older. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.) We know some kids are great at mindfulness and long bouts of silence, but today's walk is for the adult and teen age range.
This is a pet-free event. The location isn't pet free, but the event is. We don't want to take away from the focus of the walk. This is about YOU and your connection with the living earth.
Liability waivers must be signed by all. Parents, please sign for minors.
